About 13,000 residents and students of the Al Mankhool community in Dubai and its surroundings should note that the RTA has recently completed large-scale road construction.
The latest improvement project focused on revamping three main streets: Al Mankhool is characterized by heavy traffic, moreover these improvements were described by Hussain Al Banna, the Chief Executive Officer of the RTA Traffic and Roads agency, as follows, Kuwait St, 12A St and 10C St.
Some of the changes made are the reduction of the right in and right out lanes from two to one at the junction Kuwait Street and 10 C Street also the inclusion of the U turn lane on 10 Street with a view of decreasing on accidents. It was also moved to increase the storage lane distance The U-turn on Kuwait St was also shifted to reduce by half the bottle neck and final analysis shows that the traffic flow improved thereby reducing delays by 30% at Kuwait St and 12A St.
“These changes will minimize vehicle queueing and waiting time on the road, “ Al Banna added. “Less conflict of traffic movement from 10C to 12A will also enhance safety on Kuwait St. ”
These improvements highlight several of the ongoing enhancement by the RTA which endeavours to enhance Dubai’s road network. Regarding the enhancements, Al Banna said that these changes will help manage traffic and allow people to move within and around the Al Mankhool District more freely and conveniently to the advantage of the residents in the area.
’The enhancements of the project would facilitate traffic flow and transportability throughout and in the vicinity of Al Mankhool, which could be a determinant factor for as many as 130000 residents and students, Al Banna concluded.
