Mouza Al Suwaidi Appointed Secretary-General of UAE Gender Balance Council

Her appointment strengthens efforts to promote gender equality in the UAE

UAE Cabinet headed by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum announced appointment of Mouza Mohammed Al Suwaidi as Secretary-General of the Gender Balance Council of the UAE. This appointment comes at the wake of the UAE seeking to improve the status of women in positional authority and decision-making roles, thereby increasing the country’s competitiveness on the international market.

The Head of UAE Gender Balance Council, Her Highness Sheikha Manal bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum said that she has been receiving full backing from top leadership in the rights and growth of women. She said that Al Suwaidi’s extensive experience in the both government and business environment will contribute to achieving the goals of the council To promote gender equality across sectors.

According to Her Excellency Mona Ghanem Al Marri, the Vice President of the council, the council is about to begin a revolutionary phase as it focuses and works towards accelerating the UAE’s position within the rankings for gender balance. From this she reiterated the necessity of this new structure in the enhancements of sustainable economic growth and systematic development of the society.

Al Suwaidi who has more than twenty years of leadership experience also said that she felt honored to be trusted with that responsibility. She reaffirmed her commitment towards the cause of women as well as for the upliftment of the country.

Mouza Al Suwaidi has a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Wayne state University and a Bachelors’ degree in Applied sciences from Higher Colleges of Technology. It should be noted that in her career she has gained experience in community, shared services, and procurement roles making her a valuable leader in UAE.
