On the final day of the 30 th ITS World Congress and Exhibition taking place in Dubai, they received a record number of guests held from September 16 to 20, 2024 at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The event organized with support of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has gathered more than 25000 people – participants and visitors from 100 countries, it has become the largest in the history of the event.
The closing ceremony was graced by the presence of his excellency Mattar Al Tayer Director General and chairman of the Roads and Transport Authority RTA and Mr Angelos Amditis Director General of ER Walten. More than 800 speakers from different countries and 200 sections devoted to science and discussions took place at the congress, where innovative ideas regarding transition to sustainable mobility and advanced technologies in transport management were presented.
These actors were international professionals engaged in smart transportation, car makers and dealers, service providers and scholars, and they participated in discourses concerning among others urban mobility, innovations in logistics, sustainable transport and autonomous mobility.
At the end, the world icon was transferred to Atlanta, the host of the ISTA in 2025. Congress sessions will be conducted in Gangneung, South Korea in 2026 and in Birmingham UK the following year 2027.
Owning to the event held in Dubai, Mr. Angelos Amditis took his words to thank the host for the occasion as ERTICO unveiled yet another platform in aerial services. Ahmed Mahboob, the CEO of RTA’s Corporate Administrative Support Sector said that the event marked a significant move in shedding the light on Dubai potentials of hosting significant world events and anchoring discourse on the future of smart systems in the transport sector.
The event’s accompanying exhibition featured more than 500 exhibitors thus promoting Dubai as a global hub for mobility innovation.
