The Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan includes several essential urban development schemes that Dubai officials approved to create better infrastructure while improving mobility and living standards in the city. Mattar Al Tayer heads the Supreme Committee for Urban Planning which examined essential initiatives to elevate Dubai into one of the global leaders in urban economies.

A stand-out project within the Dubai Walk master plan introduces 6,500 km of walking paths across 160 zones while the main features include the Al Ras Loop offering a 15-km pathway through historical sites and the Future Loop featuring a 2-km air-conditioned bridge in the Museum of the Future vicinity.

The Dubai Metro Blue Line represents a 30-km expansion which includes 14 stations to serve nine residential and development areas where 1 million potential residents will settle by 2040. This new section supports sustainable transport in Dubai.

Other projects include:
✅ The Super Block initiative in Al Fahidi, Al Karama, Abu Hail, and Al Quoz Creative Zone.
The Therme Dubai development aims to establish the globe’s longest park facility and interactive resort that will draw annually 1.7 million visitors.
✅ The Saih Al-Salam corridor, with five service and recreational stations.

The implementation of the Dubai 2040 plan brought about substantial operational growth through 17,400 residential plots provision for citizens and a 105% increase in green spaces across the city. Dubai aims to grow its public beach spaces by 400% while expanding tourism zones by 134% and allowing healthcare and education facilities to increase by 25%.

The city of Dubai will maintain its position as a futuristic sustainable metropolis through these new initiatives.
