Abu Dhabi will be the first city to fully utilise artificial intelligence, with Aion Sentia expected to complete construction by 2027. In the future city, homes and transport are connected to MAIA, an application that also coordinates healthcare using AI.
Bold Technologies which is part of Bold Holding in the UAE, joined forces with Italian AI developer My Aion Inc. under the BOT model to develop Aion Sentia. The mission is to improve city living by using AI that evolves with its inhabitants.
Aion Sentia will turn smart city technology into cognitive technology, said Daniele Marinelli, the company’s CEO.
Using the generative and cognitive AI of MAIA, a first-of-its-kind mobile app, the city can successfully function. It will be used to manage public transport, energy usage and even support specific health needs. To help manage people’s daily life, MAIA tracks their behavior and what they like using a personal profile to handle tasks automatically — from arranging meals to controlling the heating in the house.
AI technology is being used in the city to unite mobility, energy, education, digital services and emergency response all in one place. People living in this place won’t have to use different applications, as MAIA will serve as a helpful personal assistant.
Aion Sentia is scheduled to launch in Abu Dhabi next year and afterwards move toward Europe, the U.S. and Asia. The scheme will help provide jobs to Emiratis, support fresh local ideas and start training courses in AI at UAE universities.
According to Thani Al Falasi, CEO of Bold Technologies, this is not just a city but a journey toward the next stage of city living.
