DEWA Explores AI-Driven Workforce Solutions and Smart Buildings at Microsoft LA Headquarters

The new-generation utility, DEWA led by its CEO Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer lately made a top-leverage business visit to Microsoft its Los Angeles office to deliberate on AI the future of AI to boost workforce productivity and enable smart infrastructure. The executives attending the delegation included Hussain Lootah, Marwan bin Haider, and Waleed bin Salman and the conversation focused on how Microsoft solutions especially in the Artificial Intelligence space can help DEWA achieve it’s vision of efficiency and sustainability.

When discussing with Rajmohan Rajagopalan, Microsoft’s General Manager of M365 Copilot and Apps and Ricardo Villalobos Microsoft’s Principal Director of Industry Software Engineering the delegation wanted to know, how AI technology can enhance DEWA’s employees and how smart building-based solutions may help enhancing the energy efficiency and improving the quality of humanity environment within urban areas . Microsoft presented its 365 Copilot solution that is an advanced AI that can replace many daily processes and increase the overall performance of the company. This is consistent with DEWA’s focus on digital transformation; the company is the first governmental organisation in the UAE to adopt Microsoft’s Copilot software.

In early part of this 2024, DEWA provided its team with Microsoft 365 Copilot and Security Copilot; it is among the first utilities organization globally to implement the technologies. Such AI tools are intended to help DEWA improve operational performance, customer satisfaction and corporate environmental responsibility, in line with Dubai’s Smart City agenda.

Al Tayer brought optimism on DEWA’s ever commitment to innovation saying, ‘ DEWA is committed to adopting the advanced digital solutions including AI, to sustain our leading position of as a sustainable and innovative utility. Apart from enhancing our operational capacity, our partnership with Microsoft supports Dubai’s goal of becoming a smart city of sustainable living.
