Dubai Becomes the World Metropolis for Artificial Intelligence

Dubai Reveals Plans to Teach One Million Workers New Skills by Promoting Artificial Intelligence : The city of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates is gearing up to become one of the world’s most advanced markets for Artificial Intelligence with a plan to train one million people to become AI prompts within the next three years. The coalition is the first of its kind in the world, and its initiation is under the auspices of the Dubai Future Foundation (DFF).

H. E. Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of DFF Board of Trustees echoed on the notion of creating a future skills for a city that seeks to be aligned with future technological advancement and with Dubai City in particular at par with innovation. Dubai in particularly with UAE plans to shift from an oil-based economy to one that is fueled by Artificial Intelligence where it aspires to have forty percent of its gross domestic product being attributed to Artificial Intelligence by the year 2031. It entails major commitments, with the creation of the world’s first position – the Minister of State for AI, and laying the ground for safe-fostering of both startups and scientists.

Generative AI requires a technique, AI prompt engineering, that entails designing clear guidelines to be followed by AI to accomplish certain objectives. The ‘One Million AI Prompters’ program is designed to help such attributes be developed in people, making the enhanced future workforce and optimization of the population’s quality of life possible.

“That is why we need to present simply all AI solutions: for technical or non-technical people – everyone may use it,” the UAE Minister of State for AI, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications, Omar Al Olama shared.

For the start of the initiative, the first Global Prompt Engineering Championship that saught to involve categories such as literature and art was held in Dubai where global contestants whose entries met the high standards of the set Quality Control Parameters had submitted Thousands of entries came from over a hundred countries with the winners of each category featuring in Dubai. They included Megan Fowkes from Australia, who will take home AUD33000 after winning in the art category, Ajay Cyril from India, coding winner with USD 60000 for his effort, and Aditya Nair from India, the literature winner whose efforts earned him USD37500.

Currently, more significant international technology companies such as Microsoft, Google, and International Business Machines Corporation are engaging the UAE in AI development since it holds a strategic place. Microsoft’s recent one and half billion-dollar investment in G42, a UAE based artificial intelligence firm demonstrate that the Gulf state is gradually emerging as one of the most preferred destinations for the development of artificial intelligence.
