According to Meta Platforms’ CEO Mark Zuckerberg the company will spend up to $65 billion this year to improve its artificial intelligence (AI) systems. Meta’s aggressive AI move places it at the forefront of competition with OpenAI and Google to become a leader in the AI revolution.
Metro will dedicate $65 billion to build its AI framework and wants to add a large workforce of AI professionals and build a data center at least 2-gigawatt in size which spans equivalent to a major portion of Manhattan. The company has set two milestones for 2025 which include deploying 1 GW of computational power and having installed more than 1.3 million Nvidia graphics processors by year’s end.
According to Zuckerberg’s Facebook post “this year will prove decisive for AI.” The effort covers a massive scale that will steer both core products and business operations throughout the next several years.
