The safest bet right now is that Elon Musk’s AI startup, xAI, recently rolled out the most recent iteration of its Grok-2 chatbot that is now available for download and use to all users of the social media platform X for free. This particular shift is geared towards ensuring that more and more organizations avail themselves to xAI’s technological solutions.
Writing on their blog on Saturday, xAI noted that “Premium and Premium+ users will be entitled to higher usage quotas and future features when they are released.” This shows, that Musk, in addition to improving the value proposition of X for its high-tier consumers, seeks to make advanced AI technologies available to a broader audience.
The xAI has in fact been operational with the Grok-2 chatbot for weeks while it goes through low-profile performance tests. The release is another milestone for xAI and reflects Musk’s idea of applying AI progress in regular digital communication.
Presumably, with free and open access, Grok-2 will have to compete with other generative AI chatbots in the market, even as it offers people a small taste of what xAI is aiming for in this fast-moving AI space.
Additionally, this initiative adds to Musk’s commitment to making AI accessible and take advantage of the X platform’s wide reach to enhance xAI’s disruptive technology impact.
