Sharjah Launches World’s First AI-Powered Trade Licence in Just Five Minutes

Sharjah has recently launched a revolutionary service that uses artificial intelligence to issue trade licenses to the business people and investors within 5 minutes hence placing Sharjah among the world’s most innovative cities. Unveiled during the Sharjah Investment Forum (SIF 2024) together with Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, the Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, this effort is taken to be a leap forward in the company’s business automation.

Launched earlier in the Sharjah Investor Services Centre (Saeed) and the SPC free zone, the new service will shortly be extended to other free zones in the emirate. This will make Sharjah the first region globally to incorporate the use of Artificial Intelligent in trade license production thus enhancing its position as an investment hub.

Mohamed Juma Al Musharrkh, CEO of Invest in Sharjah pointed out that this innovation contributes to the ranking of Sharjah as an investment destination of the future with focus on sustainable innovations. He said that through deploying AI, Sharjah is actually recasting the type of business environment and inviting global players.

This will be an AI environment that automates almost all business activities and enables an entrepreneur to be done with the licensing procedure in not more than 5 minutes. In his remarks, General Manager of Microsoft UAE, Naim Yazbeck pointed out that the application of AI has had the effect of revolutionalising business in Sharjah and boosting business efficiency as a result of the resultant increase in economy.

Ahmed bin Rakkad Al Ameri, Chief Executive Officer of the Sharjah Book Authority said, This positions SPC Free Zone as an international business destination reinforcing the status of Sharjah as the regional and international cultural capital. This AI-driven programme, which increases flexibility and work proficiency, aims to attract FDI and strengthen Sharjah’s position as a pioneer of startup ecosystems in the Gulf region.

This is one of the strategic goals of Sharjah to develop its economy diversification strategy for creating an enabling environment for new business development in the emirate in various sectors such as health, distribution, and food production.
