USTA Foundation and Emirates Partner to Rejuvenate Tennis Courts for Underserved Communities

USTA Foundation, Emirates have extended the current association, Emirates to remain with it’s 13-year tenure as the ‘Official Airline Partner of the US Open Tennis Championships’. This long-term multiyear partnership now features this major community engagement effort to positively change underinvested communities that trusted tennis. The Emirates “Force for Good” court refurbishment initiative will be introduced during the 2024 US Open; three revitalised courts at Brooklyn’s De Hostos Playground courts will be launched on the 7 of September.

The primary aim of the initiative is related with the increase of community participation through offering thousands of disadvantaged youngsters with tennis and education. De Hostos Playground courts are affiliated to the Kings County Tennis League which is affiliated to the USTA Foundation that impacts on hundreds of youths in Brooklyn. In the years to come the Emirates initiative will go on by sponsoring refurbishments of courts at parks, schools and community amenities in other US cities where emirates has its operations.

Emirates: ‘s commitments entail the annual sponsorship to the USTA Foundation where the agreed sum is used in funding more court recoating the Tennis and its programmes. This partnership is expected to transform the youthful generated and families within local communities by embracing talent and an opportunity for learning through tennis. Boutros Boutros, Emirates’ EVP – Corporate Communications, Marketing and Brand stated his pleasure on establishing a broader community of the partnership. ”It is a constructive approach to renew surfaces of tennis courts and encourage training courses that inspire children and future champions who have love for tennis in their hearts,’ he said.

In addition to supporting the court refurbishment project, Emirates has signed numerous sponsorship deals with the USTA, these are the Emirates brand exposure during the US Open, the Emirates Ball Flight that fan base prefers and the Emirates Day among other events. The hospitality suite to be provided at Arthur Ashe Stadium is a new improved one to fit the airline’s services to be provided. This is the fifth year of Emirates’ partnership with USTA as the company became the official airline of the USTA in 2012 making the US Open the organisation’s first Grand Slam®tournament association. Since then their support has gone international thus supporting the airline’s part in tennis and its social responsibility.

Emirates and the USTA expressed this new partnership in a way that creates a healthy reciprocation of goodwill for both and the community in which tennis will be brought and further embraced, and where future champions will more than likely be cultivated.
