Dubai Emerges as Global Hub as Digital Creative Economy Valued at $7.3tn

A recent survey by Dubai Design District (d3) and Dubai Media City in conjunction with Monstarlab put the size of the global digital creative economy at AED27tn ($7.3tn). This puts Dubai in the center of this rapidly evolving sector, which is spear-headed by technologies like AI, Web3, and VR.

Also, the new Digital Creative Economy 2024 war paper shows that the global income for creative economy is expected to be 11% per annum up to AED 27 trillion by 2030. This paper distributed an anonymous online questionnaire to 400 professionals working in the design and media industries, focusing on the increasing role of AI in content creation and innovation.

Dubai has been placed at the apex of the creative economy through its new ranking in FDI creative projects and job advertisement inflows. The emirate’s economic diversification plans such as the Dubai Creative Economy Strategy seek to increase the sector’s contribution to the GDP to 5%.

The panelists include Majed Al Suwaidi of Dubai Media City and Khadija Al Bastaki of d3 in which they focused on the technology as the new frontier that has disrupted and transformed content creation for promising young talents of today’s digital age and to constantly support and foster young creativity as means to break through the future of the new digital creative economy.

Due to its well established infrastructure and business friendly environment Dubai continues to be an active participant in determining direction of creativity in the future.
