Emirates National Schools Strengthen Educational Ties at Central Asian Universities Forum in Tashkent

The newly formed Emirates National Schools recently attended the Central Asian Universities Forum & Strategic Education Partners Meeting held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Held with the support by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, this extensive event let the school demonstrate its adherence to global standards, progressive approaches to learning, and search for new outlooks for learners.

Deputy Director-General of Emirates National Schools Ahmad Al-Bastaki underlined the role of their participation, highlighting the school’s leadership among UAE and international schools. Such partakers were engaged in a response to an invitation from Ministry of Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan, which proved the high level of cooperation between countries in the sphere of education, development of educational projects and initiatives, appurtenances to increasing the achievements of educational processes.

As al-Bastaki pointed out,the partnership started in 2023 after Emirates National Schools entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Education of Uzbekistan. This kind of cooperation also helped to provide a swap of experience and information in the sphere of education including the possibility of complex training courses of Uzbek teachers in Abu Dhabi where they were introduced to modern approaches to preparing teachers and applying innovative technologies such as artificial intelligence into education.

Further, in summer of, 2024, a summer camp was organized in Tashkent where 30 students of Emirates National Schools participated in cultural exchange program. In September 2024 the school also invited the group of Uzbek students for training and thus augmentation of relations.

Discussions are already being made on developing an annual over summering hostelry in Uzbekistan for pupils from both states, which echos Emirates National Schools’ steady commitment, and its aim of advancing educational standards worldwide. Candidly, apart from the forum, Al-Bastaki has met with Uzbekistan’s Minister of Education, Khilola Oktamovna and handed her a plaque in recognition of the partnership.
