High school students in Dubai aged 16–18 now have the chance to unleash their creativity and make a real impact on the environment with the Green Genius Challenge: Eco-Appliance Edition. Sponsored by the University of Europe for Applied Sciences in Dubai and BSH Home Appliances Middle East, students are challenged to invent sustainable modifications for ordinary house appliances in this contest, where they can win great rewards.
This section of the website shall answer questions such as what is the Green Genius Challenge?
The problem suggests redesigning home appliances such as refrigerators, dish washers, washing machines with improved outlook on energy and water consumption. Entries’ design will be evaluated on creative thinking, impressions made on sustainability, practical applicability, and elegance instead of the level of specialization.
How to Participate
To enter, create a 2-minute video showcasing your eco-appliance idea, covering the following points:
- Purpose: What role does your innovation play in terms of conserving energy and/or water?
- Features: What makes that sustainable as well as unique?
- Impact: What problem does it solve?
- Plan: Can the concept be planned and if it can then how?
- Creativity: What sets it apart?
