Mohammed bin Rashid Congratulates UAE Winners of the 8th Arab Reading Challenge

The 8th Arab Reading Challenge – UAE level qualifiers also earned admiration and congratulation of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of UAE, Prime Minister, and the Ruler of Dubai. Sheikh Mohammed remarked specifically on the 700,000 students who took part in the initiative; many of those students successfully finished the reading trials set for the course of the school year for a total of 50 books.

“I am proud of the enthusiastic response reflecting this fruitful fruition of the Arab Reading Challenge in which seven hundred thousand learners throughout the UAE comprehensively reading 50 books in academic year mode; congratulations to the winners announced today; their dedication to reading and knowledge acquisition raises optimism for the prospects of the Emirati generation shines through,” said Sheikh Mohammed.

Ahmad Faisal Ali of Zayed Education Complex in Al Barsha was announced as the winner in UAE level outcompeting all the other participants in over 700, ooo students from over 1,174 schools across the UAE. The occasion was hosted by the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI) at Dubai World Trade Centre. The event was addressed by Dr. Ahmed Bel houl Al Falasi Minister of Education; Sheikh Salem bin Khalid Al Qasimi Minister of Culture; Maryam bint Ahmed Al Hammadi Minister of State Secretary General of UAE Cabinet; Saeed Mohammad Al Eter Assistant Secretary General MBRGI.

The current UAE Minister of State for Public Education and Advanced Technology, Sarah bint Yousif Al Amiri, crowned Ahmad Faisal Ali as the representant of UAE. Detailed analysis of the findings of the 8th Arab reading competition revealed that 28. 2 million students from 50 countries and 229620 schools took part in the competition.

Other awards for the day were Asem Abbara from Abu Dhabi as the ‘Outstanding Supervisor’ and Al Ebdaa Model School – Cycle 1 in Dubai as the ‘Outstanding School’ In People of Determination category, Sulaiman Khamis Sulaiman Al Khadim from Zayed Education Complex in Dibba Al Fujairah.

The Arab Reading Challenge’s goal is to create a large reading audience that utilizes Arabic in daily communication with members of society and ensures the preparation of future generations to acquire relevant knowledge for the formation of a more efficient and successful society.
