Sharjah Ruler to Inaugurate Al Dhaid University in September

His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member, and Ruler of Sharjah has declared that the pompous official launching of Al Dhaid University will be conducted on 16th of September, 2024. Based and centrally positioned at Sharjah to inculcate required professional competencies in the graduates intend to produce manpower that will enable students to produce professional standard in the area of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. Sheikh Sultan explained the need to establish the new institution, as it will be different from other universities offering all sorts of programs, which will not be sufficient to secure a good job in the region’s market, but instead, it will focus on the provision of key programs crucial to the economy. The registration for the university is also on and they called for qualified students to excel in their secondary education to get into the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. This faculty as you realize involves very severe and expensive study as that in human medicine and is expected to produce a strong force of professionals in the society.

ALDHAYD UNIVERSITY will be officially inaugurated two weeks after the start of the academic calendar to afford students a lectureship period while adjusting to the programs offered. The institution will initially focus on two key faculties: the Faculty of Agriculture that has been accredited by MOHE and the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine that is at the final steps of obtaining the accreditation.

Dr. Sheikh Sultan also informed that for the university a veterinary hospital is being established at the nearby location. This facility will serve a dual purpose: training students especially those in veterinary and providing animal health care through diagnoses, treatment, and surgeries within the area. In addition to the established internal clinics in the hospital, the services will also be offered externally in parts such as Suhaila and Mleiha, and this will avail comprehensive veterinary services to the regions.

Al Dhaid University, offering a four-year program for the Faculty of Agriculture with reference to a vast area for practical sessions of wheat, dairy, poultry, vegetables, and fruit farms etc. Sourek emphasized, that it is a prevision of the Dr. Sheikh Sultan that this approach will deliver to the students not only the qualitative education but also provide them important practical experience.
