An upgrade in Academic Degree Verification for private sector employment has been introduced by the UAE to increase efficiency, accuracy and transparency. The Departments of Human Resources and Emiratisation (Mo HRE) and Higher Education and Scientific Research (MoHESR) joined efforts to launch the initiative.
The project now allows private-sector employers to electronically check the qualifications earned by people in the UAE or elsewhere. The action is in line with the UAE’s effort to use technology and set up a well-prepared job market for the future.
Now, employers and job seekers can use MoHRE’s digital platforms and business service centres to access the verification service. For now, project participants are workers with degrees at levels 1 to 4, obtained from abroad, though UAE-obtained degrees will also be considered in the future.
Khalil Al Khoori, who is Undersecretary of Labour Market and Emiratisation Operations at MoHRE, said.
Working on this project improves labour relations in the UAE with academic verification in work permits and prevents fraud. It supports our regulatory system and connects talent with the priorities of the country’s economy.
The Undersecretary of MoHESR, Dr. Mohammad Al Mualla, explained that the service helps companies find the best workers.
The initiative helps the Zero Government Bureaucracy program by making verification efficient and fast. It likewise guides students toward careers that are required by the market.
Hiring takes less time, there’s reduced paperwork needed, the fee only has to be paid once and school certificates can be authenticated with just a few clicks. It helps government and private bodies to cooperate which helps the UAE keep its status as a hub for experts and investors.
With this project, employment checks will be stronger and the country’s changing labour market will benefit from well-connected services.
