‘Inside Out 2’ Dominates North American Box Office for Third Weekend

In this report by Exhibitor Relations, “Inside Out 2” has anchored its position as the top North American box-office hit for the third week in succession. This animated sequel regained the domestic box-office crown from the latest film in the ‘Quiet Place’ horror franchise.

Specifically, in the weekend, Inside Out 2 generated 57 $. 4 million, making total of $469 since the movie was launched on June 14. Still, deep in the overall market, the analyst David A. Gross of the Franchise Entertainment Research pointed to the hardships nonetheless, a 20. It will be recalled that in June domestic box office was down by 8 percent from a pre-pandemic baseline.

This film follows again the young girl Riley, who struggles with emotions in high school. New emotions that are added to the core characters are Envy and Anxiety along with stars such as Amy Poehler and Phyllis Smith.

Hot on its heels, Paramount’s “A Quiet Place: meaning it grossed second place with 53 million dollars during the opening three days of the movie going into its first weekend. Directed by Wan on a screenplay by Wan and Eric Pearson, the third part of the post-apocalyptic horror had a great start with the main hero played by Kenyan-Mexican actress Lupita Nyong’o; however, the response from critics and the audience is less favorable than in the case of the second part.

While commenting on the tremendous success of the movie, Gross went nuts when stating that only 13 horror series go forward to reach the fourth part, and in this respect, the ‘A Quiet Place’ is likely to join that list.

In third place, “Horizon: The Warner Bros. ’ new American Western epic “An American Saga,” started with $11m. Kevin Costner who directs this movie also features as one of the lead actors; this bomber is the first of its kind and has a second part being released in August.

Will Smith’s action comedy “Bad Boys: African American ride or die” fell from the second position to the fourth; it made $10. 3 million. The reception of the film proves that people are willing to accept him back into the cinema after the incident at the 2022 Oscars.

Taking the fifth position is Kalki 2898 AD, a science fiction Telugu film produced by Prathyangira Cinemas of India earning $5. 5 million. Being a film with an impressive population of Indians in the leading roles, it is the first part of the envisioned film series by its makers.
