The Health, Endurance, Longevity, and Medicine (HELM) cluster of Abu Dhabi revealed its transformative plan to establish the city as a worldwide life sciences hub. HELM stands as an initiative of Abu Dhabi Global Health Week which projects the creation of $25.6 billion (AED94bn) in GDP growth and $11.5 billion (AED42bn) of investments and 30,000 highly valuable healthcare positions by 2045.
The HELM cluster operates under joint governance of Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development and Abu Dhabi Investment Office together with Department of Health – Abu Dhabi to advance innovation across biotechnology, MedTech and AI diagnostics and pharmaceutical and precision medicine sectors.
In a speech from Department of Economic Development Chairman Ahmed Jasim Al Zaabi it was stated that “The HELM cluster provides stakeholders access to novel technologies alongside state-of-the-art infrastructure alongside modern rules to position Abu Dhabi as a leading healthcare solutions provider at the international level.”
Abu Dhabi positions itself to overcome global healthcare issues including chronic diseases and population ageing through the HELM initiative while the healthcare sector anticipates reaching $25.3 trillion (AED93tn) by 2045 within the global market.
Chairman of the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi Mansoor Ibrahim Al Mansoori expressed that this cluster represents more than mere infrastructure development since it invests in people and innovative life-saving solutions that benefit humanity.
Thanks to its strong national genomics program combined with multicultural talent presence and solid infrastructure base Abu Dhabi remains a location where health tech firms can easily penetrate markets. The HELM cluster expands from previous successful clusters including SAVI and AGWA as it strengthens the emirate’s position as an emerging industry leader.
Through HELM Abu Dhabi moves past economy diversification to lead the development of the worldwide healthcare landscape.
