Dubai’s healthcare sector achieved remarkable growth in 2025, reinforcing the emirate’s long-term vision to enhance quality of life and strengthen its standing as a global hub for advanced medical services. New data released by the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) highlights significant expansion across healthcare facilities and workforce numbers, reflecting rising investor confidence and international talent attraction.
According to official figures, the total number of licensed healthcare facilities in Dubai rose to nearly 5,800 in 2025, compared to 5,340 in 2024. This marks growth of more than 8 percent within a single year. The sector now includes 55 hospitals, 68 specialised clinics, 60 day-surgery centres, 70 general dental clinics, 126 general medical clinics, 222 home healthcare centres, and 101 alternative medicine centres.
The expansion has been matched by strong workforce growth. The total number of healthcare professionals in Dubai’s private sector exceeded 69,400 in 2025, up from 64,100 the previous year. Physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals continue to relocate to Dubai, drawn by its modern infrastructure, career opportunities, and supportive regulatory framework.
Dr. Alawi Alsheikh-Ali, Director General of the DHA, described the private healthcare sector as a core pillar of Dubai’s health system. He noted that continued investment in infrastructure, smart technologies, and specialised services demonstrates the sector’s ability to meet the emirate’s ambitious future goals.
He added that sustained growth reflects strong investor confidence in Dubai’s regulatory environment and flexible legislation, which continues to attract leading international medical institutions.
Dr. Asma Al Sharif, Acting CEO of the Health Regulation Sector at the DHA, said the increase in hospitals and internationally accredited facilities further strengthens Dubai’s position as a preferred destination for health tourism. She emphasised that ongoing development forms part of a comprehensive strategy aimed at advancing healthcare standards and long-term sustainability in the emirate.
