Eid Al Fitr 2025: Expected Dates and Public Holidays in the UAE

The upcoming Eid Al Fitr 2025 holiday prepares to be the initial large public holiday of UAE’s new year. The UAE public sector will observe at least three consecutive official holidays but the government may add another day based on moon sighting procedures.

When is Eid Al Fitr 2025?
Eid Al Fitr happens based on the Islamic lunar calendar according to which astronomers expect Ramadan 2025 to start on Saturday March 1. Based on this:

Public holidays in UAE will span from Sunday March 30 and continue through Monday and Tuesday April 1 in case Ramadan extends to 29 days. A four-day break occurs because this weekend falls during those public holidays.
A thirty-day Ramadan would lead Eid to start on March 31 so that Monday through Wednesday constitute official holidays for a total of five days.
Official Announcement & Holiday Rules
The United Arab Emirates government plans to observe Eid Al Fitr between Ramadan 30 and Shawwal 3 although it has not released specific date information before the event happens. Other public holidays do not follow similar rules which enable date adjustments for weekends but Eid remains unchanged regardless of when weekends occur.

Other Major Public Holidays in 2025
The holiday combination of Arafat Day and Eid Al Adha is expected to occur between June 5 and June 8 (Thursday–Sunday) year 2025.

What is Eid Al Fitr?
People observe Eid Al Fitr to mark the conclusion of the Ramadan season through “The Festival of Breaking the Fast”. It is a time for:
✔ Family gatherings
✔ Festive meals
✔ Charitable giving
✔ Celebrations

The formal announcement about public holidays will trigger your journey preparations for your much-needed vacation.
