Arafat Day is the next public holiday in the UAE and is expected on Thursday, June 5, 2025. It is a significant day before Eid Al Adha which will be celebrated from Friday, June 6 until Sunday, June 8 in 2025, it provided residents with the bonus of a long weekend to celebrate the occasion.
According to the Islamic calendar, Arafat Day is one of the most sacred days, the memorialising the second day of Hajj pilgrimage and the Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) Farewell Sermon. It is a time of prayer, thinking, and religious devotion.
Eid Al Adha also known as Arafat Day is another holiday, following Arafat Day, of Eid al Adha is devoted to the faith and obedience of Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) who was asked by God to sacrifice his son. Traditionally, prayers, feasts and charity are observed.
However, these holidays occur on the Islamic lunar calendar and official confirmation will be made closer to the dates based on news regarding the moon sighting. Nevertheless, with the latest listings, UAE residents should have a deserved break to enjoy in early June.
