Kuwait’s National Football Team Holds Final Training in Kolkata Ahead of Key Clash Against India

Kuwait’s national football team will have their last practice session at Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata this evening before the powerful side from Kuwait can step up for a blow-to knockout match India on Thursday. This matches is one of the match of the FIFA 2026 World Cup qualifier in United State of America, Mexico & Canada in conjunction with the 2027 Asian Cup Saudi Arabia Group A fifth round matches .

Kuwait ended a week-long training session in Bangkok, Thailand with Portuguese coach Rui Pinto focusing on building up all players through rotation games and experimenting all tactics to elicit the best response in order to achieve a spirited result. This preparation is necessary for Kuwait to move in the subsequent rounds of qualification gladly.

At the moment, Qatar tops the group with 12 points, the team has claimed the first qualification place in the deciding stage of the World Cup qualifiers, as well as in Asian Cup final. Kuwait, India, Afghanistan With 3 points each for this qualification second spot teams are there.

The crux of the regional world cup preparation is this last training session on night where the teams are expecting Pinto to announce the formation that he is planning to field against India and the coach has been stressing on keeping this formation undercover throughout this session that is only practice session which is being held for the regional world cup. Technical director of Pinto has decided on 26 players to be in the national team list which includes Mohamed Dahham, Faisal Zayed, Youssef Nasser, Salman Buramiya and more.

However, keeping a check on recent incidents, Salman Al-Awadi was dropped due to a red card he received in the latest Asian Cup finals held in QATAR and replace him was Moaz Al-Asmaa.

A member of the Board of Directors within the Kuwait Football Association and head of the national team delegation to Bangkok, has stated that activities in the camp were on schedule. Al-Otaibi believes the players intend to secure a good result to meet the expectations of Kuwait fans who want to uplift their teams’ performance across the globe.

He also expressed his thanks to the Kuwaiti Ambassador in Thailand, Muhammad Al-Failakawi who provided his assistance in organizing the team’s role during the camp and for coming to the training sessions to see for himself how things were going.
