Oman Vision 2040 Follow-up Unit Reviews Strategic Plans and Programmes

The Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-up Unit held its second annual meeting on the Wednesday of June 5, 2024 in Muscat and was formed of vision offices of different governmental organizations. The meeting focused on the following objectives: Outcome: To examine the current or latest strategies as well as identification of solutions towards implementation problems of on-going projects.

Accompanying the meeting, the guidelines on the Georgian vision implementation follow-up offices’ functioning was prepared to ensure the proper interaction and co-ordination of these offices within the governmental institutions. Speaking at the seminar entitled ‘Vision Office: A New Governance Approach towards Implementation’, the Dr. Munther bin Hilal Al Busaidi, the Deputy Head of the Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-up Unit, highlighted that vision offices have the responsibility to oversee the quality of the planning and the coordination and problem-solving for issues encountered by the initiatives.

The Ministry of Education provided an illustration of their plan to engage the office’s competencies from the perspective of the ministry, specifying conversational themes on the basis of the tenth five-year development plan as well as the strategic programs outlined in the given plan. It also examined the education performance trends reported in global contexts in relation to Oman Vision 2040.

The Office of the Governor of North Al Sharqiyah presented the Governorate’s Executive Plan and outlined the biggest accomplishments in work performed in various arenas, including private sector, investment, and international affairs. Likewise, the Vision Office at the Development Bank also presented the major accomplishments for the year, the formulation of the in-country value and the organizational introductory seminars introduced regarding the idea of the vision.

The The fact-finding mission discussed by the Vision Office of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion for 2023 envisaged the manufacturing industries laboratory, development workshops for the national intellectual property strategy, and the construction sector. The office assisted in the review of over 55 detailed plans to ensure that the plan meets the quality of the vision as well as the goals laid down in the vision.

The meeting guests included Dr. Khamis bin Saif Al Jabri, who leads the Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-up Unit, as well as the leaders and envoys of vision offices in various governmental organizations. The cooperation initiatives are directed at achieving the goals of Oman Vision 2040, Alizz Islamic Bank’s vision, and mission.
