Students Protest Against Defamation of Dhania Kandi Hamidia Fazil Madrasa in Ishwarganj, Bangladesh

Acroding to BusinessBangladesh, They protested in front of the Upazila Parishad on Thursday demanding the stop propagating false information on different social media sites regarding their institution Dhania Kandi Hamidia Fazil Madrasah
at Ishwarganj in Mymensingh. The students presented a memorandum to Sarmina Sattar, the Upazila Executive Officer who also heads the Madrasa’s Managing Committee after the protest.

As per the news channel’s report, a group from outside has targeted the madrasa’s principal, vice-principal, teachers, staff, and students by posting slanderous and baseless contents on the different social media portals. In return the students of the madrasa took to the streets in protest and demonstration.

It was during the protest that the students said that further action would be taken if the propaganda by an extra group continues and blamed another conspiracy group of spreading misleading information. Student finally withdraw their seven days long protest when the Upazila Executive Officer told on telephone that a search would be launched into the incident and required action would be initiated.

The speakers in the gathering included students Mahbub Alam, Arafat Hossain, Abu Raihan, Arifa Akhter, Nilufa Akhter, Irene Akhter, Junaid Ahmed, Sultana Akhter, Touhid Ahmed and Piyas.
