From this August, the usage of robots to deliver the foods and the shopping needs will be the first to be initiated in Dubai. This delivery system is being implemented in the first fully sustainable city in the world, The Sustainable City in Dubai and in partnership with Dubai Future Labs and Lyve Global.
There will be three spoke robots that are smart and will be transporting good from restaurants and shops inside the plaza area to residents. These robots, which have been created by Dubai Future Labs and are overseen through Lyve Global’s intelligent interface, shall improve the delivery process.
The vision for the build of the Sustainable City expanse presents rod car-free environments deliberately conceived for autonomous solutions. The goal of this pilot is to increase safety, hygiene and cost-effectiveness while decreasing traffic, pollution and delays. The delivery is said to take less than 30 minutes; these robots are expected to learn to avoid obstacles and locate charging points as well as work autonomously.
This is in line with the bigger plan the city of Dubai to have 25% of all the trips done through self-driving cars by 2030 and thereby attaining the title of the smartest city in the world.
