The League of Arab State has awarded the UAE for its contribution towards the fight against the illicit trade in Small Arms and Light weapons in the Arab region. This recognition was given at the occasion of the “Conference on Combating the Illicit Trade in, and Proliferation of Small Arms and Light Weapons”, in the premises of the Arab League in Cairo, in partnership with the European Union.
The CEO of the weapons and hazardous substances office of the UAE’s Supreme Council for National Security, Mohamed Suhail Al Neyadi accepted the award on behalf of the UAE delegation to the tournament. The conference discussed major concerns of the second stage of the EU-Arab League program based on the fight against cross-border threats, measures to combat illicit supply of weapons, etc.
