‘Cook’N Bacon’ Diving Duo Secure First U.S. Medal in Paris with Silver in Women’s Synchronized 3-Meter

First, it was hailed ‘Cook ‘N Bacon,’ Kassidy Cook and Sarah Bacon seal the Team USA’s first Olympic medal at the Olympic Games Paris 2024. Jade, the spectacular synchronized diver took the silver medal in the women’s synchronized 3-meter springboard event on Saturday at the Aquatics Centre.

The two got a total of 314. 64 points in doubles and thereby winning silver; the title of world champions went to three-time winners China Chang Yani and Chen Yiwen, who scored 337 points. 68 points. Yasmin Harper and Scarlett Mew Jensen of Great Britain completed the medalists line-up with a total of 302 points for the bronze. 28 points.

Cook, 29 years, and Bacon, 27 years, earned the win as a new synchronized pair after being less than an inch away from going to the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 three years prior.

“I am fairly certain it has been a long time, coming,” Bacon said. “It was difficult not being in Tokyo, but being part of these Olympic Games and earning a silver medal with my sister/friend – It cannot be explained.

The two skaters’ way to the top of the stand was written in sweat, pain, and tears, but the drive finally paid off nicely.

Cook also stepped into the annals of Olympics as the first ever women’s diver to do a campaign in two separate non consecutive Olympics the previous one being the Rio 2016 Olympics.

“I guess my story is a quite atypical one,” Cook said. “Between these Games, I have flexibility many formidable personal problems. It is huge for me to learn that my persistence has given the outcome. ”

Bacon attributed her family and boyfriend; a former Mississippi State University kicker, Nick Jaworski, for their support.

“It’s actually been, mentally, tough,” Bacon said. “However my boyfriend makes me realise that I should follow my dreams, and I am grateful that he did that to me. ”

Locals Shelly and Clark opened aggressively, getting to the required 49 points. 80, 51. 00, 71. 010, 72. 54, and 70. There used to be point scores allocated to each dive, and some of the amounts mentioned are twenty points. This provided them with a podium finish since they had the best scores most of the times.
