Dubai Joins Forces with Dubai Basketball to Boost Global Sports Appeal

The partnership with the required participant Dubai Basketball is a founding sponsorship by the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, which strengthens Dubai’s position as a sports, event, and entertainment hub. This partnership will expand the size of the basketball community in Dubai and at the same time, market Dubai to the rest of the world.

As per the terms agreed in the sponsorship deal, the logo of Dubai and visitdubai.com will appear on the chest of the team’s t-shirts and during all home games at Coca-Cola Arena. As Dubai Basketball joins the basketball team in Europe’s ABA League, many more people from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia, and Montenegro will be interested in the city.

Ahmed Al Khaja, that is the CEO of Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE) noted this action as being in line with Dubai’s long-term goal that is to make the city the most preferred destination to visit, to work, and to live in. He explained how the partnership helps basketball at different levels and enhances Dubai event destination experience that aligns with the Dubai Economic Agenda namely, D33.

Dubai Basketball’s General Manager and Co-Founder, Dejan Kamenjašević, reacted positively about this cooperation mentioning that this way the appearance of Team Dubai in the ABA League will contribute to the further boost of European visitors to Dubai. He also said that being a tourist desert, football fans who will be visiting the city to honour their favourite teams will also be able to tour the emirate as well as his up and come in contact with its culture and heritage.

It gives a clear testimony of what currently prevails in Dubai as a sports destination that encompasses local clubs, international competitions, and domestic events. Hence, through Dubai Basketball, among others, both DET and DFRE keep on promoting the emirate as an ideal sports tourism, entertainment, and major sports event destination.
