Recently inaugurated DSW is the biggest indoor sports and fitness fair in the Middle East and it has unveiled a variety of events, entertainment and enthralling racing arenas for the summer season.
The inauguration of 2024 was presided over by the well-known personalities such as HE Saeed Hareb, Secretary General of Dubai Sports Council, Mahir Julfar, EVP of Dubai World Trade Centre, the former NBA All-Star named Dale Ellis, and the actor who is also known as television personality-Rannvijay Singha.
Running until 8 September and open daily from 8am to 12 midnight, DSW 2024 spans 300,000 square feet and offers bookable pitches and courts for ten core sports: The games are football, basketball, padel, table tennis, volleyball, badminton, cricket, tennis, teqball, and pickleball. Apart from the sports, it is hosting summer camps/ Schools, academies & Dubai Kids World & fun city which is an enclosed play area, adventure activities, trampoline and art and craft corner for kids. The event this year also includes a free of charge gym and fun games for the entire family, including foosball and old school video games.
HE Saeed Hareb explained the growth of DSW and how it plays a leading part in encouraging everybody inside Dubai to lead an active life. This he said has been maintained in the 14th edition of the countdown in supporting community and family and fitness. Mahir Abdulkarim Julfar also stated that in this year’s event, the event organizers sought to make the summer to be full of both fitness and fruitful fun for everyone.
Ex NBA All Star Dale Ellis described hospitality in Dubai, the role of such tournaments to develop young talents, and bring the community together through sports. Ellis will work with Never Quit Stay Fit and TAAL Sports for the summer program that will seek to achieve the enhancement of youths into champions along with personal fitness improvement.
Another important point to be noted in DSW 2024 is the openness of the city for all, including People of Determination, with many possibilities for the improvement of the health of the residents and guests of the city.
The main events of the given weekend are an Academy Day with children’s performances and a Yoga Day to transform the weekend into a real holiday.
