Dubai T100 World Tour Final Crowns Champions in Thrilling Endurance Races

His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Chairman of Dubai Sports Council was present at the climax of Dubai T100 World Tour Final held at Meydan Racecourse to appreciate an enthralling demonstration of endurances sports.

Marten Van Riel of Belgium was a winner of the men’s professional race at T100 to be crowned a World Championship title in 3:09:17. This saw Van Riel clinch victory after a marvellous year that has seen him win in San Francisco and Ibiza equally. A day before the event, the women’s professional race took place where Taylor Knibb from the USA came out on top and also crowned the series champion.

With many of the athletes noted expressing appreciation for the dedication they had devoted towards the event, Sheikh Mansoor further echoed about the importance of the event towards enhancing Dubai’s position as a world class city for elite athletes. He also expressed his appreciation to the organizers for the efficiency observed, the infrastructure that facilitated the event.

The champions were awarded their championsware by His Excellency Saeed Mohammed Hareb, secretary of the Dubai Sports Council, Sam Renouf, the CEO of the PTO AND Antonio Arimany, the president of World Triathlon.

Another component was the 100km Age Group race drawing more than 3,400 participants from 63 different countries. Quentin Amaral, a UAE resident, won the men’s category with a finish time of 3:I had the opportunity to interview Eliud Kipchoge the male champion who took 2hours 25:46 for the marathon and Caroline Bridges of the UK the female champion who did it in 4:02:27.

Aside from racing, fans were treated to the vibrant Race Village where the audience got to watch live music performances, activations from some of best brands in Dubai and fun for the family to engage in making the T100 World Tour Final one of the most iconic sporting events held in Dubai.
