Dubai’s Gaming Industry Set to Add 30,000 Jobs and Boost GDP by $1 Billion by 2033

However, there is ample potential for future development in Dubai’s gaming industry which has a vision to generate 30,000 new employment opportunities and a billion dollar boost to the gaming industry of Dubai by the year 2033. The expansion of the sector is due to Dubai’s attempts at exploiting new opportunities while strengthening its digital economy.

Under this large comprehensive plan, Dubai Chambers alongside the Dubai Future Foundation has held a workshop that sought to review on how Dubai can move to the list of the top 10 gaming cities by the year 2033. The session will involved all the stakeholders such as game developers, Artificial intelligence specialists, marketers and everybody else interested in the improvement of the video game industry and boosted economic growth.

The Dubai Program for Gaming 2033, spearheaded by the Dubai Future Foundation, is critical amongst these endeavours. It strived at building Dubai as an international player in the gaming industry in the same fashion as contributing to the overall strategy of the city. The goals of the program are to expand innovation, to attract businesses, and to provide optimal conditions for both, startups and developed businesses.

Speaking about this, Maha Al Gargawi, Vice President of Business Advocacy at Dubai Chambers, noted ‘The Dubai Program for Gaming 2033 will help make the necessary steps in terms of development in the sphere and strengthen Dubai’s positions as the attractive place for business, starting with entrepreneurs and ending with talents in the sphere of gaming’.

Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy highlighted the future event namely, Expand North Star where the focal sector will be the gaming sector and will occur from 13-16th Oct at Dubai Harbour. The event is expected to bring in global startups and investors, which will help in solidifying Dubai’s status as the gaming and digital nations hub.

The session also featured ‘App Olympics’ competition under the Create Apps in Dubai initiative and explained how gaming will have a crucial point in the digital economy of Dubai.

Some of the areas of conversation that took place included resource organization and distribution, industry structures and formats, special joint working opportunities for the Dubai Future Foundation representatives. Finally, the analysis offered new perspectives for the future development of the key strategies for Dubai to succeed in the competition with traditionally strong markets in the casino industry.
