‘He Even Wanted to Learn from Me’: UAE Cricketer on Why Bumrah is Such a Great Player

One of the most discussed issues now is bowling, and Bumrah played it very interesting after India’s victory over Pakistan in the T20 World Cup. His bowling performance of 4-0-14-3, this always displayed by his peculiar short run-up and style of bowling confined the Pakistani batsmen and gave India a victory.

For many, the India bowling spearhead Bumrah might take time to regain his form after a serious back injury but the warrior has shown his skills. Two affiliated people of the UAE cricket fraternity, the seasoned coach Gopal Jasapara and the international pace bowler Zahoor Khan also gave the key with regards to its Bumrah’s come back.

Being mindful of how one handles and executes tasks in words such as: careful and workload.

Jasapara also once captured Bumrah practicing at the Narendra Modi Stadium in December last year after his injury. Surprisingly, Bumrah was looking lean and in very good health but the Indian cricketer needed back surgery in April 2023 and thus could only come back to cricket in August 2023. He noted that Jasapara has also stressed on the fact that Bumrah’s gradual return to regular playing style and BCCI’s proper work load planning has helped him to come back to posting in style. Bumrah’s ability to accommodate; not opening bowling and taking sufficient rest in between has helped him maintain a good physical condition.

Unique Skills and Humility

As per reliable sources, A popular fast bowler Zahoor Khan, who worked with Bumrah in IPL 2020 observed that Bumrah is physically and mentally extremely strong man. He specifically pointed on Bumrah’s awkward action that makes even otherwise a full toss a tough delivery to hit. With the best bowling display, Zahoor also revealed an amusing story where Bumrah once asked him the secret behind his slower ball. However, this attitude, the humility he has shown when learning even from players in associate teams, define Bumrah.

Bumrah’s successful return of the series as an unassuming IPL star, improving his performances and strategic timing, still elicits admiration from many players and fans.
