First-ever AI Retreat in Dubai Showcases UAE’s Rise in Global AI Rankings

Dubai: Pumping more money into talent development is a key factor because UAE has noted progression across the new international benchmark for AI and this was disclosed on Tuesday at the first-ever AI Retreat held in Dubai.

The idea of accelerating AI-related experiments was shared by Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications, during a speech at the Museum of the Future and AREA 2071 to over 2,500 AI specialists, policymakers, government representatives, and stakeholders.

The minister underlined that the belief of the UAE leadership in the value of the talented people in the process of constructing the future reveals the UAE as the third country worldwide, and the first in the region concerning attraction of the professionals in the sphere of AI per capita, enhancing its position in comparison with 2021 and ranking as the third place behind Luxembourg and Switzerland, as per the survey of LinkedIn in cooperation with Stanford University. The UAE also came for AI skills the 15th place on the list moving one place up from the previous year.

To the last person, he stressed on the fact that this technology is not static and that everyone should remain agile in order to remain relevant in this global race to AI. The decision-making power towards achieving this vision lies firmly in the hands of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and the Ruler of Dubai and under the wise guidance of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of UAE, and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, the UAE leadership seeks to make the UAE the AI capital
