Celebrate Eid Al Etihad with a Free Visit to the Louvre Abu Dhabi

When choosing interesting activities for your long weekend celebrating Eid Al Etihad – the holiday, which used to be called Union Day and UAE National Day – do not overlook the chance to visit the famous Louvre Abu Dhabi. Situated off the North East Coast of Abu Dhabi on Sas Al Nakhl Island, the museum is a center for cultural delight, with breathtaking products that enthral people from all over the world.

Temporary Exhibition: Painters of the ‘before and after’ Impressionists: Defining post-impressionism

Art enthusiasts will be thrilled by the museum’s temporary exhibition, Post-Impressionism: Organized based on the academic collection Beyond Appearances, until February 2025. This showcase features over 100 masterpieces from 1886 to 1905, with highlights including:

Vincent’s Bedroom, which is actually one of three paintings of this same room in the “Yellow House” in Arles, France.

Paul Gauguin an intimate of Vincent Van Gogh with raw and stylistic paintings.

Poster boy for post impressionist art; Les Rampart, views of the chateau’ende, 1898, Les Joliette and Julien and the medallion, 1898, portrait of Gustave Geffroy, 1895.

Such convolutions of technique were provided by a gentleman called Georges Seurat who is famous in depicting pointillism.

Murals made with waxy material and an open circular discussion table at the center of the exhibit offer more information about these ever famous artists and frescoes.

Immerse Yourself in Culture

As I made significant progress in exploring point, line, washed and brushed, I also spent my day admiring one of mankind’s beautiful creations; the architecture of the museum as well as the fantastic period known as Post-Impressionism. It may be a great addition to National Day, where many of us seem to crave for some culture.
