Cool Down This Summer: Sign Up for Dubai’s Ice Obstacle Challenge

It’s the summer time in Dubai which means one thing, yes you guessed it right; the perfect time to participate in the fifteenth Ice Obstacle Challenge fit at Ski Dubai, Mall of the Emirates. This exclusive event, supported by the Dubai Sports Council and organised by Majid Al Futtaim will occur on Sunday, 22nd September, assuring people a reprieve from the desert heat.

The event known as the Ice Obstacle Challenge has become a tradition of sorts in Dubai where people training for the Special Forces participate, and others willing to try out their stamina and muscular strength. This year’s event sees a 3. 5 km frozen course that has between 20 to 22 obstacles especially set to challenge the participants to the limits. They will perform such tasks as climbing the walls, crawling under the cars, crossing ice, and even, shivering in icy water at – 4 Celsius.

Whether a professional athlete set on the goal to receive the best result and finish the course in the shortest amount of time or a person who just wants to try something extraordinary, the Ice Obstacle Challenge is suitable for everyone. The event is open for serious racers and recreational individuals, and wave starts start at 6:30 am.

Every individual person will be assigned race number and a timing chip so that we can record the outcome of the race. Participants that will complete the event will receive a special medal and a t-shirt to mark their achievement.

For those tired off the summer sun this is a great chance to have some winter humor on the sands of the Emirate right in the downtown of Dubai! The registration is being done now up to September 19 only. Registration can be done through Premier Online, the entry fee field is ranging from AED 195 upward.

What a great time to be had though you muist be quick! From the serious competitor wanting to win the event to the first time athlete competing just for the experience Frozen Heart will make the morning a cold blast you’ll never forget.

  • Time: Fived begins at 6:30 a. m.
  • Location: Alpine skiing, Ski Dubai, Mall of the Emirates
  • Register: Premier Online (registration is until September 19)
