Dubai Fountain Closed for Revamp, New Digital Experience Coming Soon

Dubai Fountain concluded its world-famous performances at least temporarily on April 19th 2025. The beloved attraction outside Dubai Mall and beneath the Burj Khalifa performed its last show on April 19, 2025 as it began a five-month renovation period. The short-term closure belongs to a pre-planned period when upgrades and maintenance tasks will be performed.

Emaar Malls Management LLC introduced a new attraction that aims to replace the missing water shows which many visitors were fond of. Individuals visiting during the fountain shutdown will discover an upcoming noteworthy digital entertainment experience. Emaar announced the upcoming installation of advanced digital screens that will replace the operating area of the 400-meter promenade where the fountain typically performs.

The newly designed setup will provide interesting visual content to entertain visitors based on an official company announcement that aims to help retain customer traffic despite the fountain shutdown. The planned setup is not yet installed but contractors will start their tasks shortly.

Because of its water spectacle the Dubai Fountain ranks as the planet’s highest operating fountain that draws massive visitor numbers to its sound and lighting presentations. The renovation project will add advanced equipment and modern advanced sound systems as well as fresh choreography for future shows.

People seeking similar entertainment can find exciting options throughout Dubai until the revival of the Dubai Fountain project. Two different multimedia water performances await visitors in Dubai at the IMAGINE show in Dubai Festival City and Le Perle by Franco Dragone at Al Habtoor City.

When September 2025 arrives the Dubai Fountain will reappear with expanded features and more enhancements than before. The digital promenade experience will maintain Downtown Dubai’s energetic atmosphere until its scheduled reopening of the Dubai Fountain in September 2025.
