Presented in collaboration with M Premiere, the production promises UAE audiences a rare opportunity to experience this literary classic brought to life with cinematic scale and emotional intensity.

Directed by acclaimed theatre director Rimas Tuminas, this landmark production originally premiered in 2021 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Russia’s prestigious Vakhtangov State Academic Theatre. Since then, it has toured internationally, with over 100 sold-out performances, earning praise for its visual splendour, compelling performances, and ambitious artistic vision.

A Journey Through Love, Loss, and Resilience

At the heart of Tuminas’s adaptation is Tolstoy’s philosophy that “the family is life’s mirror.” The intertwined destinies of the Rostovs, Bolkonskys, and Kuragins reveal the tenderness of love, the burden of loss, and the resilience of humanity during times of upheaval. Set against the sweeping backdrop of the Napoleonic Wars, the production blends dramatic storytelling with evocative music, striking visuals, and the talent of both celebrated and emerging performers from the Vakhtangov Theatre.
