Dubai RTA: Al Fay Street Development Project AED 1.5 Billion ($408 Million) Award That Determines Roads and Transport Authority’s Strategy of the Emirate of Dubai.

The project, which has been approved by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and supervised by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, will be from Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road via Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street and up to Emirates Road. They are five; crosses both vertical and horizontal with a total of 13,500 meters of bridges and 12,900 meters of roads. On its completion, the Al Fay Street has the capacity to channel 64,400 vehicles per hour thereby benefiting; the residential and developed areas with a population of 600000.
Importantly, many leaders are trying to undertake strategic infrastructure upgrades, most of which don’t have a clear timeline as to when they will be complete.
According to Mattar Al Tayer, Director General and Chairman of the RTA, the project will be a major game changer of Dubai’s roads network. ‘Through the project, improved east-west connection is created as well as providing smooth interaction between the main roads of Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road and Emirates Road as well,’ he said.
It will address the growth of several zones such as the Dubai Sports City, The Jumeirah Village Circle Damac Lagoons, The Oasis as well as Tilal Al Ghaf, involving road users as its beneficiaries.
