Hamdan bin Mohammed Opens Largest-Ever IDEX in Abu Dhabi

UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan under his patronage along with His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum as Crown Prince of Dubai and UAE Deputy Prime Minister launched the 17th International Defence Exhibition (IDEX 2025) in Abu Dhabi. The current edition of IDEX represents the greatest presentation in history which solidifies the UAE’s dominance in worldwide defense market operations.

IDEX 2025: A Growing Platform for Defence Innovation
The ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi serves as the venue for 1,565 companies representing 65 countries until February 21 as the event continues to increase by 16% during this edition. IDEX has achieved its biggest total exhibition space expansion of 10% since its inception to reach 181,501 square meters that welcomed the most new participating companies in event history.

Key highlights include:

The exhibition welcomed 731 new participating companies as its first-time exhibitor numbers experienced an 82% growth.
213 UAE-based firms, representing 16% of exhibitors.
The participating states at this year’s event have grown by seven members including Qatar along with Ethiopia and Hungary together with Latvia and Lithuania and Romania and Cyprus.
The newly established Hall 14 welcomed 341 exhibitors to extend the reach of the exhibition.
The event facilitates strong global cooperation among defence organizations.
Sheikh Hamdan stated that UAE dedicates itself to worldwide peace by recognizing security as a key element for maintaining national advancement. The UAE progresses its defense abilities under its prophetic leadership through international partnership development.

  • Artificial intelligence & robotics
  • Cybersecurity advancements
  • Advanced protection solutions
  • Idex 2023 introduces the inaugural Global CBRNE Hub that connects industry leaders for discussions about Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear and Explosive (CBRNE) weapons threats. The hub gathers a total of 38 global companies which represent 13 different nations.
