New details have emerged about the upcoming Harry Potter-themed land planned for Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi, giving fans a glimpse into what could become one of the region’s most exciting attractions.
The project was first announced in 2022 and will be located inside Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi on Yas Island, one of the world’s largest indoor theme parks.
Once completed, the attraction will become the first Harry Potter-themed land in the Middle East, bringing the wizarding world to life for fans across the region.
Hogwarts Castle and Diagon Alley planned
According to reports and planning documents, the expansion is expected to include some of the most recognisable locations from the Harry Potter universe.
One of the main highlights will be Hogwarts Castle, which is expected to house the area’s flagship ride and serve as the centrepiece of the themed land.
Visitors will also be able to explore Diagon Alley, the famous wizarding shopping street filled with magical shopfronts and immersive experiences.
Another themed area under consideration is the Dark Forest, which could feature magical creatures and atmospheric environments inspired by the mysterious woodland surrounding Hogwarts.
Immersive magical experiences
The upcoming attraction aims to recreate the world of Harry Potter through immersive experiences designed for visitors of all ages.
Possible activities and attractions may include:
-
Interactive wand experiences
-
Potion-making workshops
-
Broomstick-style rides
-
A Hogwarts Express-themed attraction
The park is also expected to feature themed dining and snack options inspired by the wizarding world.
Fans may be able to enjoy treats such as butterbeer, chocolate frogs, Bertie Bott’s Every Flavour Beans and Cornish pasties, along with other iconic foods from the series.
Entirely indoors for year-round visits
Like the rest of Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi, the Harry Potter-themed land will be fully indoors, allowing visitors to enjoy the attractions even during the UAE’s hot summer months.
Pam Lifford, President of Global Brands and Experiences at Warner Bros. Discovery, previously said the Wizarding World offers something magical for fans of all ages.
The themed land aims to bring the beloved stories and characters to life through immersive storytelling, rides and experiences.
Opening date yet to be confirmed
While construction is reportedly underway, an official opening date has not yet been announced.
However, the project is already generating excitement among fans, with many eagerly awaiting the chance to step into the magical world of Hogwarts, Diagon Alley and beyond in Abu Dhabi.
