Red Bull is pulling off something wild by transforming the Dubai Frame into a fully playable game of Tetris, using more than 2,000 drones to light up the sky in real time. And yes — it’s happening tonight only.
This isn’t a light show you just watch. Red Bull Tetris is being billed as the world’s first live, playable Tetris event, with the Dubai Frame itself acting as a massive vertical game screen. Not inside it. The frame itself.
Here’s how it works:
Players control the game live, their moves are processed instantly by a powerful supercomputer, and the drones respond by stacking, rotating, and dropping glowing Tetris blocks inside the Frame. Every move you see in the sky is happening in real time.
After millions of games played worldwide, the two best Red Bull Tetris players on the planet will face off in a final showdown tonight, battling for the world title while the Dubai skyline watches. Think T-spins, clutch saves, insane speed — but 150 metres in the air.
Tickets for the event are already sold out, but you don’t need a seat to see it. If you’re anywhere near Zabeel Park, you’ll still catch the drones lighting up the Frame.
It’s retro gaming meets futuristic Dubai energy — and it’s about to flood Instagram feeds everywhere.
📍 Where: Dubai Frame
📅 When: Tonight, December 13
👀 Watch from: Zabeel Park and surrounding areas
Dubai really said: Why play Tetris on a screen when you can play it in the sky?
