Presented by Dubai Opera in partnership with Broadway Entertainment Group, the global phenomenon will run from January 28 to February 15, 2026, marking the first time the iconic musical is staged in the UAE.
Since its premiere, WICKED has captivated more than 65 million people across 16 countries and 130 cities, becoming one of the most successful and recognisable musicals of all time. The Dubai production promises the same scale, spectacle and emotional depth that has made it a Broadway and West End favourite.
A spectacular production with a Dubai-first moment
This new staging of WICKED features reimagined sets, more than 350 bespoke costumes, and a company of over 100 performers, musicians and crew members. One of the biggest highlights is a show-stopping scene in which a witch flies above the audience — a first for any WICKED production worldwide.
Often compared to the iconic chandelier moment in The Phantom of the Opera, the scene is expected to be one of the most talked-about theatrical moments Dubai has seen.
What is WICKED about?
Set in the land of Oz before Dorothy’s arrival, WICKED tells the untold story of two young women whose unlikely friendship changes their lives forever.
Elphaba, born with green skin, is intelligent, outspoken and determined to stand up for what she believes in. Glinda, on the other hand, is popular, ambitious and adored by all. As they navigate school, politics and personal ambition, their bond is tested — ultimately shaping them into Glinda the Good and the Wicked Witch of the West.
The story explores themes of friendship, identity, power and courage, offering a fresh perspective on a familiar classic.
