Dubai Students Unite to Raise Funds for Underprivileged Children’s Education

Dubai: Dubai Cares, part of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI), has launched the “Students for Students”, in which tens of thousands of Dubai Students from Dubai schools came together for this noble cause. This is a plan for community engagement that is intended to sponsor the needy children by offering them scholastic requirements.

During the first stage, the students from the 14 schools that participated developed events like spring fair, bake sale, or games and raising money. These activities helped to remotely raise 720,000 AED, which was used to buy school essentials such as bags, and stationery items for children. There was a lot of support received for the students, teachers, parents and family members who joined hands for this noble task.

The second phase of the project will be the organisation of a ‘volunteer day in the participating schools which will take place in June 10- June 25. Within this period, students are to assemble nine thousand school kits with these supplies sourced from the money raised. These kits will be then donated to various charity schools and organizations in the UAE by Dubai Cares for the start of the new academic season.

The Students for Students program involves recipients of Dubai Cares support advocating for education for their fellow needful counterparts, and this creates togetherness and understanding. The funds raised and the volunteer efforts demonstrate the school fraternity within Dubai coming together towards transforming the lives of needy kids.

This initiative is significant to education and the involvement of the community and showing how the improvement of people’s lives are greatly made by collaboration.
