DXB Prepares for Record Traffic Over UAE National Day Weekend

Dubai International Airport was experiencing a unique amount of traffic, specifically DXB, or the global’s busiest international airport, expected to rise during the long new UAE National Day weekend. On the roads, from Thursday, November 28, to Wednesday, December 4, more than 1.9 million passengers are predicted to travel through DXB daily, totaling 271,000. According to the expectation, the highest passenger traffic will occur on November 30, 2019.

Preparing for the Rush

Since the last official public holiday is in the middle of the cooler months, the Dubai Shopping Festival, and New Year’s Eve preparation, DXB is expecting record-breaking figures. Authorities are therefore encouraging travelers to prepare well; Get to the airport early and take benefit from any services offered by the airport.

Emirates passengers are particularly advised to check in early and self-service check-in, as well as city check-in. As for flying passengers to Dubai, they should arrive at least four hours before the flight if they are flying with flydubai or no earlier than three hours if they are flying with another airline. Making use of the web check-in and sticking to the restricts on luggage can be profit-making in terms of time. Passengers with children over the age of 12 should also make use of the Smart Gates for easier completion of the passport control process.

Record-Breaking Year for DXB

DXB continues to grow and setting its record annual passenger numbers next year at over 91 million people. It served over 68 million guests in the first nine months of operation only.

Celebrating UAE National Day

It is 53 years to the day when the UAE was formed and there will be festivities all over the emirates, with a particular feast to mark Eid Al Etihad in the Garden City of Al Ain. Although this is not the busiest time of the year, people who plan to travel are encouraged to depart earlier than normally expected considering the increased activity.

Whether embarking on a holiday trip or expecting the arrival of guests in Dubai, the National Day weekend will be busy at DXB. Map reading will help avoid stress during this festive period if one prepares well in advance.
