Emirates Expands Dubai to Colombo Flights with New Service

Currently, Emirates Airlines has revealed that it is to add a new flight to its Dubai Colombo route beginning in January, 2, 2025. This new service that has been introduced is the EK654/655 as part of the way used by Emirates to expand the capacity of the seat by 30 percent. This decision has been made due to Sri Lanka’s latest actions for increasing tourist inflows, in 2025 goals to attract even more tourists.

The new flight will fly six times weekly during the winter season with no operation on Wednesday until March 31, 2025. Since April first, an additional flight for the week will be launched to be performed every Wednesday. The additional service can accommodate up to 360 passengers, featuring:

  • 8 Suites in First Class
  • 42 Business Class seats
  • 310 Economy Class seats

Emirates has always been very sensitive to Dubai’s interconnectivity with Sri Lanka as it started offering services to Colombo back in 1986. Altogether, for many years, the airline has been taking more than 12 million passengers on this route and continues to focus on the development of the connecting UAE-Sri Lanka service.

This expanded service is bound to ease travel between the two destination thus addressing Sri Lanka’s increasing tourism objectives.
