Emirates Expands Global Connectivity to 1,700 Cities

Emirates, the Dubai based airline has further extended the connectivity as it now provides access to almost 1700 cities over the globe which has been doubled in the last one year. This expansion is made through association with 162 travel partners with more than a hundred destinations around the world, making travel easy for passengers.

Other alliances involve 31 codeshare and 118-Two way Interline partnerships that enable Emirates make other flights available through its book, whilst passengers on Emirates also seamlessly transfer to other flights; luggage does not have to be rechecked. Such strategic alliances have improved Emirates’ capacity to offer a wide range of travel opportunities to connect with otherwise hard to get to parts of the global village.

In the last one year, the company has signed 16 new partners; codeshare with Avianca and Batik Air Malaysia; interline with KAM Air, Sri Lankan Airlines, Condor, Kenyan Airlines among others. Also, Emirates customers have been able to access excellent connectivity to more cities across Europe through links with trains such as Trenitalia, Spanish Rail Renfe, Austrian Rail OBB, and Swedish Rail SJ.

Emirates has also experimented with diverse collaborations, for instance, it signed an interline agreement with BLADE, an urban mobility company, to enable the clients to purchase helicopter service from Nice to Monaco within a single purchase. This step makes Emirates the first full-service airline to make this kind of arrangements, which will add to its connectivity solutions.

As a result of this, Emirates customers are able to connect to more than 375 destinations in the Americas, 380 in Europe and over 500 in Asia. For instance, if the Australian client opens a partnership with Qantas, this covers 85 destinations in total, and if the African client wants to travel through Emirates, using partners, the total destination point exceeds more than 210.

This new expansion is in line with Emirates’ goal of offering unrivalled connectivity across the globe, and enable people to travel like never before.
