They are free of charge and thus are the best way to learn and appreciate the arts and heritage of Sharjah before these exhibitions are out. More specifically, this article tracks the closure of major exhibitions that have taken place over the course of the year and are scheduled to end in June. One of the must-see exhibitions is:

The Casablanca Art School: “The Position and Organization of yhe Avant-Garde: Platforms and Patterns for a Postcolonial Avant-Garde (1962–1987)” at Al Hamriyah. This piece signifies a social revolution in art that began at the Casablanca Art School, Morocco after the country gained independence in 1956.

Another notable exhibition ending next month is “Lala Rukh: “In the Round” at Al Mureijah Art Spaces, Sharjah Contemporary Art. This exhibition has all his works in drawing, printmaking and his final work which was in videos for three decades. Special Exhibition: This work is a series of installation titled ‘Drawing Time: Duets’. While visiting, be sure to check out ”

Drawing Time: In “Duets” these artists presented their works at Gallery 4 of Al Mureijah Art Spaces. With a history of perhaps thousands of years, this exhibition presents a vast selection of drawings from the Sharjah Art Foundation Collection that are not often seen by the public. They can be characterized as an attempt to reconsider drawing as a culturally situated disciplinary process that starts in the intellect and goes into the numerous manifestations outside of the head. Accessibility of all types of exhibitions is open but the need to book in advance requires those interested in the exhibitions to do so before attending. Established to pay homage to Ireland’s long tradition of art and design education, these experiences are available until the end of June in 2024.
