Sheikh Hamdan and Sheikh Abdullah Appointed as Deputy Prime Ministers

The current Crown Prince of Duba is Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed who has been given the Portfolio of the Deputy Prime Minister & Minister of Defence. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, the Foreign Minister, was also assigned the post of Deputy Premier, as it was stated by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and the Ruler of Dubai.

Sheikh Mohammed said the appointments were made in consultation with the president Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed. He stressed on these roles in the UAE government, and though he was not so optimistic about the leadership qualities of Sheikh Hamdan and Sheikh Abdullah.

“We announce today the formation of a new ministerial position as follows: , during the accession of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum into the UAE government as the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense in the UAE Cabinet,” Sheikh Mohammed said. He appreciated Sheikh Hamdan as being an affectionate leader who is fond of his subjects and reciprocated in kind.

Chief of Dubai Crown Personnel Sheikh Hamdan stated that he is honored, reflected the same confidence in him and the union of the UAE. In the message on X, he expressed gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum for the trust and the assignment: “We renew the pledge and promise to our wise leadership and our dear people to continue following the path of Zayed and Rashid. ”

As well, new Prime Minister, Sheikh Abdullah will perform the functions of the Minister of Foreign Affairs concurrently. He also be chairs of the revamped Council for education, human resources and community development where Sheikha Mariam bint Mohamed bin Zayed serves as the Vice Chair.

The other changes touched are the merger of Emirates Foundation for School Education and the Federal Agency for Early Education with the Ministry of Education. Sarah Al Amiri is the new Minister of Education while Abdulrahman Al Awar was given the position of acting Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research. Ahmed Belhoul took up the role of Minister of Sports and President of the HCT; Alia Al Mazrouei was made Minister of State for Entrepreneurship.
