UAE Announces Eid Al Adha Dates for 2024

The Islamic Religion has now listed the long-awaited dates for Eid Al Adha 2024. Earlier today, Supreme Islamic Court of Saudi Arabia also announced that all the Muslims should come out to look for the crescent of the Islamic month of Dhu AL Hijjah. June 7, 2012 hass been designated to be the first day of the Dhu Al Hijjah which marks the beginning of the hajj pilgrimage season. Most of the Arab countries will celebrate Arafat Day this year on Saturday, June 15 and the first of al-Adhaa will be on Sunday, June 16.

By extrapolation to a UAE context, this means the expectancy of a holiday of five days max for the residents. While it is still unknown which company will be the first, the holiday schedule is expected to be announced by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE) soon, possibly in the nearest future. Although it is yet to be confirmed, expectation is that the holiday will be from 15 June to 18 June while business will resume on 19 June.
